Extended Twistlock Trailers
Specialist trailers that lift and secure containers with buckled or damaged twistlock castings.

A container with a damaged or buckled twistlock casting will not lock down on a standard skeletal, and most hauliers will refuse the job. It then sits at the terminal accruing storage while everyone works out what to do.
Our extended twistlock trailers reach beyond the standard positions to secure the container safely, so a unit that is otherwise stranded can be moved.
The problem this solves
Twistlock castings get damaged in handling — dropped, struck by a spreader, or crushed in a stack. The container itself and its contents are usually fine, but the four points that make it legal to carry are not.
Rather than de-stuffing at the terminal into a curtainsider, which is slow and expensive and risks the cargo, an extended twistlock trailer picks up on sound points and moves the container intact.
Getting it moved quickly
Terminal storage charges accrue daily, so speed matters more than usual on these jobs. Send us photographs of the damaged castings along with the container number and terminal, and we will confirm quickly whether we can lift it.
Common questions
- My container has a damaged twistlock — can you still move it?
- In most cases yes. Send photographs of the damaged castings and the container number and we will confirm whether our extended twistlock trailers can secure it safely.
- Is it safe to move a container with a damaged corner casting?
- It is, provided the load is secured on sound points by equipment designed for it. That is exactly what an extended twistlock trailer does. We will not move a container we cannot secure legally.
- How quickly can you collect?
- We prioritise these jobs because terminal storage accrues daily. Call our operations team and we will give you a realistic collection slot straight away.
